Gaussian model for the instrument function.

\[\frac{1}{\sigma \sqrt{2\pi}} \exp\left(-\frac{x^2}{{2\sigma}^2}\right)\]
Parameters:
  • x (Quantity) – The energy shift.

  • sigma (Quantity) – The standard deviation of the gaussian.

Returns:

Quantity – The Gaussian function, evaluated at positions x. Normed to 1.
