Classic (non-degenerate) Saha balance relation.

Returns \(n_{i+1} n_e / n_i\):

\[\frac{n_{i+1}n_e}{n_i} = 2\frac{g_j}{g_i} \frac{(2\pi m_e k_B T_e)^{3/2}}{h^3} \exp\!\left(\frac{-\Delta E}{k_B T_e}\right)\]
Parameters:
  • gi (float) – Statistical weights of the lower and upper states.

  • gj (float) – Statistical weights of the lower and upper states.

  • T_e (Quantity) – Electron temperature.

  • energy_diff (Quantity) – Ionization energy \(\Delta E\).
